Now Hiring: Senior Database Administrator (Sr. DBA)
📍 Location: Kathmandu, Nepal
🕒 Experience: 5–7 years minimum
🎓 Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
Your Role:
As a Senior Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in designing, optimizing, and maintaining database systems that support Verisk's innovative products and services. You’ll lead architectural decisions, drive continuous improvements, and collaborate closely with global teams to ensure our data environments are robust, efficient, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Architecture

Lead and guide solution design and development across multiple product lines.

Review and advise on database design, coding practices, and technical documentation.

Participate in architecture and technical design reviews, helping shape scalable systems.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
-
Coordinate efforts with DB architects and technical leads.
-
Work closely with line managers and principal engineers to plan and prioritize work.

Mentor and coach Software Developers and Technical Leads on SQL and best practices.
Performance & Maintenance
-
Analyze and optimize database performance.
-
Define and maintain database performance monitoring protocols.

Conduct SQL code reviews and enforce best practices for efficiency and reliability.

Create and implement maintenance guidelines for database environments.
Support & Continuous Improvement
-
Troubleshoot complex database issues alongside support teams.

Investigate and adopt emerging technologies through proof-of-concept projects.

Contribute to improvement-focused backlogs and sprint planning.

Stay up to date with tools and trends through ongoing training sessions.
What You Bring:

Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of database architecture.

Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and database provisioning.

Experience with full SDLC and production environment support.

Ability to lead by example and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
